Paper towels
« on: June 08, 2014, 10:48:01 am »
No matter how long you try to drain the bar oil out of cases before you disassemble the bottom end, there is always some left in there that makes a mess on the bench. Even if you flush the tank with gas or some other solvent there is always some sort of stuff left. I stuff the tank with paper towels to soak up what is left before splitting the case. Once the cases are split I can easily remove the towels and dispose of them properly.

We have all forgotten to check the oil tank before cracking the case and ended up with an even bigger mess! At least this way, you are forced to look first.

That big tank has nothing to do with oiling the b/c it is a cruel joke by the engineers to make sure you get a really good mess ;D!

at least they're keeping them big enough to oil the bars properly. not like a lot of the stihls you can dry out with a q-tip when it's full.
