If you can fix them on the cheap, yes. I use 2 to build one most times to do so.  I like them as little around the house or loner saws too.

If you run the parts numbers you will probably find out it is really a 42cc already.

In Canada it's not worth replacing P&C as you can buy a good saw for 1/2 the price.  However if you only need a piston you probably OK.

Looking at SearsPartsDirect it appears to be a later strato version, probably 42cc.  Unfortunately it's a non-A/V version, and I won't bother with those anymore - they just vibrate too much.

Just had a little craftsman poulan dropped off that owner said it hasnt been run for 5 years.  Reason being the bar tip was locked up after I looked at it.

Checked all the fuel lines etc. Cleaned everything up. Put my mix and bar oil in it. Hit the purge bulb a few times to pass some new mix through the carb. 2-3 pull on choke she popped. Pushed in choke and next pull or 2 she runs. Put on a new bar on and sharpened the 4 chains up.

Some of the chains had burrs on the drive links. Always happy to find that when sharpening and I dont catch it on my quick look over.  :-X :-[

Anyhow back to the owner and running great.  Need to hook him up with some PS PS3 chain. ;)

What I have done in the past is to get a used piston and cylinder off of ebay for real cheap.   Other wise not worth it.
