Poulan 306 306a

Jeff I know I already hooked you up with other sellers for a muffler and a clutch cover.  But here is some other parts just in case others needs them.

I dont know these saws but guessing the poulan 245 245a mufflers work too?  Also that there was a steel and cast version of the mufflers. Info by those in the know needed.

Poulan 306 muffler front half.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-poulan-chainsaw-muffler-cover-24096-245-306-/181358187383?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2a39ca5377

Looking at how the muffler is made I wouldnt worry about those inner baffles anyways. I would toss them and just run the outer and back halves.

Yea I agree toss the insides but he is an older fella and he probably figures " well they must have put em there for a reason" ha ha The muffler is coming here so he wants to come over to see my stuff I guess. When I get it and he comes over I will explain that she may just run better gutted out ! Jeff

That second link is for a cast 306/361 muffler body as you thought.

I am not sure I am doing this right, but yes I see the cast steel one. I am glad I waited for Ezra to tell me what kind of muffler he had. That is why I ask a lot of questions cause I don't know squat mostly.

The cast mufflers are actually aluminum.  Some early XXV series Poulans also had cast aluminum mufflers.

We're only here to help others.

Heck I learn so much from these guys here.
I am into my own type of saws and like learning other ones like these, even though I dont ever see me owning any.

I have a 306A but I did not know that about the mufflers.   I have not had to do a lot to it.   The saw was a good runner when I got it.
