Poulan Pro 255 is the same as????

(1/2) > >>

Jet A-1:
Could somebody out there tell me what saws share most of their parts with the PP255?  For example, is the Husqvarna 136 essentially the same? Are there Craftsman ones as well?  Maybe this has been covered here before.  If so, just give me the link.

Thanks in advance,

J

I dont know the saw. But in my quick search found this.

Poulan pro 255 IPL http://www.barrettsmallengine.com/partslist/poulanpropp255chainsaw.pdf

Looks like a smaller cc saw built like a 295?   Maybe a 40cc 42cc like a poulan 260

Jet A-1:
I did a few searches and I found that the clutch drum/sprocket for the 255 (one of the parts I need incidentally) appears to fit the following: Poulan Pro 255, 295, 2500, 2600, p600. Partner 365, 405. Jonsered 2036, 2040, 137 turbo and Husqvarna 36, 41, 136, 141, 142.  I'm almost sure there is a Craftsman model or two that could be included here as well, as those are just rebranded saws.

Now I'm not entirely sure that all of the above saws are wholly interchangeable but it appears that many parts can be swapped between these saws.  I did replace a coil a couple years a go with one taken from a Husky.  It worked fine and was visually the same part.

Jet A-1:
If somebody has a link to a service manual, or the pdf, for the PP225 please post it in the manuals section.  There isn't one there yet!

Thanks!

Eccentric:
There is some parts interchange between the saw families.  It'd be easier to directly address what parts you're needing however.  There are many parts that don't interchange, even within each saw model (let alone between the Husky saws, the Poulan Pro's, the Poulans, and the Craftsman versions of the Poulans).  Many changes were made between the Types (Type 1, 2, 3, 4, etc).
