No the 3300 is a plain bore while the 335 is plated.

The 3000 was a plated bore also.

So does the 3300 have plated piston then?

If you happen to have a extra boot for a 365 3300 300 305 335 etc etc it would be much appreciated. I got stupid yesterday in haste and tore the boot putting the 365 back together.

Updated list of boots that will work.

Hello all, first time post along with first time chainsaw owner.  I have a poulan 20" chainsaw I am not sure of the model I have due to the fact that the sticker on the clutch cover has been removed. It looks like the same exact model that mark posted pictures of. Right down to the sticker on the rear handle. The seriel number is the same as well. Except mine has a 97 instead of a 96 I am assuming that the 97 is the manufacturer year. Like mark's it was also made and distributed by wci in Shreveport. I will try and post pics to confirm the model number. Would it be safe to assume that I own a 3300? It also has Type iii. Is there a reason for the type 3? I just purchesed a new chain for it and it seems to do a good job. Is it a decent chainsaw? I am cutting falled trees for firewood mostly hardwood any recommendations or guidance in the matter of cutting the wood will be greatly appreciated. Also it has a tendency to bogging down and shutting off after cutting three or four 12" logs but usually starts right back up after two or three pulls. It happens when I give it full throttle any ideas of what would cause this?

William

Welcome to Chainsaw Repair

Poulan used those Type designations to note production updates to an existing design,

Sounds as though your mixture is a little lean?

It is a decent saw for its size.

Cant really tell what all with quick look see. Wont start either, so thinking impulse tore etc from the av given up.

Notice it didnt have the dawg and he said he dont remember it coming with one when he bought it.

I gave dad his pick of the grey 3.0 49cc or the 3500 60cc to take back and he took the 3.0 that is like his 3300 just smaller cc.  That way I have time to order and go through everything right for him.

Type 1 3300

grrrrrrrr   had to go look for Type 1 or 2 while checking part list. While out there I thought hmmmm better look at that intake boot. Yep sure enough ripped right where it goes on cylinder behind clamp.
