That's because it has unevenly spaced firing. the uneven firing makes the engine sound a little like a Harley.

If you think about the fact that this is a four stroke, the uneven firing set up is probably the best way to approach dynamic balance?

So this is going to have a 16" bar with full comp and be running an 11 pin?

Might have to put the 'fan' on a shelf during the competition....

Here is a video of the four cylinder 300cc in a aluminum Mustang. I think it has a resonating muffler.  Has been posted on here before. This is in Germany near the Austrian border.

My neighbor had a Honda 125 twin, neat little bike, it really wound up, I got it to 75mph.

The P51 plane design might have originally been American but that model airplane, multiplex radio, Kavan accesories and Kolm engine engineering and construction are German from one end to the other.

The Doppler effect really plays strongly in the sound.
