I had always assumed because I've never seen it done that the counter weights or crankshaft halves where heated with an induction heater  or some other method before they were pressed . That hammer deal is basically how they do a Harley crank . It would be a job is about all I can say,wow .

A Update on the twin's progress as it has had the mufflers added and has been polished and anodized - looks very professional

The ignition has not come in yet

WOW, that machine work is absolutely a beautiful sight to behold. With the way he did the crank it should be vibration free much like an Echo twin chainsaw. Cudo's to the builder....

I notice the center hub that goes between the front two cylinders and the rear two.

The two stroke four cylinder engines are set up as two opposed twins hooked together.

As we know from the other posts that the twins are made from two singles with a dog bone connector between the left and right cranks.

Some twins have a round connector between the left and right.

There has to be a seal between the front twin and the rear twin. So they use the special double lip seals front and rear off the interface connector.

The fours all have twin carbs.

The DLE Chinese company that makes fours is particular about them. With the four you can only buy the crankcase/crankshaft as a unit.

All their other engines, you can buy the individual parts.

Those are neat links.

Those straight cut gears on the four strokes will whine like a siren
