Great idea on the Scotch -Brite .I do it by hand with kerosine and it takes a long time .I like the homemade flap wheel too.

Now let me tell you a little story on old Al .I got in a hurry once on an 034 cylinder and flap wheeled it using a big 1/4" electric die grinder ,powerfull .Like a dummy I used an about 3/4 used up 80 grit wheel ,bad choice ,stiff .Like you say watch the exhaust port .I cut right through the plating and turned that cylinder to junk in the twinkling of an eye .Like they say an education is not free .

Well now that the cat is out of the bag, that is exactly what I do after the acid with a flapwheel.
I haven't had one come back yet and I've done some NASTY cylinders!!!!!

Put 1 or 2 port jobs toward getting you a new laptop. $400 and under x3 Toshiba's does the trick for my whole family.

Sometimes during Dec Christmas time like now $300 under.

I've got a couple of good desktops in the house........today I bought a Apple I-Pod Gen 4 so I could upload video faster....

I'm not smart enough for that Ipod stuff.    :-[ :P

The disc that you chuck in the drill and use with the scotch brite what is it called. It is right there on the tip of my tongue but just can't say it. any help would be great. That is very slick how fast that is over the hand way. Thanks for sharing.

It's a Roloc mandrel.

The kind with the tiny 'fingers' for grabbing the pads?  Almost like Velcro, but more rigid?

Randy could you maybe get a close pic of the part you made for holding the emery cloth in the hand-piece?  Trying to think up some ideas I can redneck make without use of a lathe.

What was diameter for one? Like 1/8 1/16 etc

I was thinking of the disc mandrels made to work with the ScotchBrite Roloc pads (3M parts #922, 923, 924, etc.) - see photo.

eBay had some 1/4" X 4" split mandrels for about $5 shipped, and some Dremel sized ones for about $2 shipped.  Before I saw those I was thinking about taking a short length of rod and slitting it with a thin Dremel disc?

Thank You is a poor price to pay.  Yeh I know send a donation ;D.  The last acid treatment I did took 4-5 hrs.  Made me wonder if it was worth it.  Now I'll be willing to save 25-30 cylinders I havelaying around.
Thank you Randy your "The Man" by the way you are a true craftsman.
