The tag says "type 1106 S".

Needs a carb, pulls over with great compression.

They have unreal compression Art, they cut pretty fast to , if you put a 10 tooth 3/8's gear on it with a good chain the new saws of today will not out cut it , 7000 rpms with a ton of torque

Been looking at some of your old posts on AS about the Contra. Will compare the cyl with pics you posted of cylinders. Looks like it needs clutch work and carb replaced. Guy left it outside for 2 years. He said motor was seized but the chain was rusted in the bar. Removed bar/chain and saw turns over fine. Offered $50 for it. Will know tomorrow if its mine.

I posted on my site Art on measuring the width of the jug, that way it will tell you if its a Super , Even if its not a super its still a good saw but a super is worth more cause a lot less of them were made

I've only seen a few and they are indeed powerfull old mules .

I can't remember exactly if it was a Contra or an actual 090 that gent had at Bill Poors GTG .It was a tad out of tune and someone ,Brad maybe did a little tweek and got it running better .Danged old monster had about  5 foot bar on it .
