farmertec 660 carburetor
« on: August 16, 2017, 01:18:43 am »
I bought one of these saws, and thinking of a new walbro or tillotson, not crazy about the carb it came with, just wanted some other thought on this before hand and which brand.
Thanks DJ

What kind of carb did it come with? Are you confident that a OEM style carb will bolt on and function?
We just drag them down..... Until they're just like us !!!  BNL

The tillotson is a good replacement. WJ76 is a good choice that's not as expensive as the WJ69

Jason listed some prices on new carbs in this thread. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/stihl/stihl-046460/msg73173/#msg73173

Think I have some used carbs left over (3). Had stole parts here and there back when I was running those.

When I adjust it so it 4-strokes and then mill for a few feet it  stops 4-stroking and gets a little lean, go a little more with the high side and it won't stop 4-stroking,no power, either too rich or too lean. I used it too cut up two oak trees into 12 logs and the rest firewood and it done fine but does this when I start milling. I've read about complaints about these carbs just haven't read what to replace it with. I think I may have ask a dumb question anyway, either of the tillotson or the walbro I'm sure would be better than what I got. I think I'll order a tillotson, unless someone says different in the next day or two, I saw one for around $60.
Thanks for your answers,
DJ

I forgot to answer Deezlfan, I don't know the make of the carb, I'd say a copy of one of the OEM type. I think one of the oem type will fit, not sure though, this is the first copy saw I ever delt with and will probably be the last. Not that is a bad saw I'm just getting a little old and need something easier, I take a beating just to start it.
Thanks
DJ

The 320 is it. I prefer the WJ76.
