Before and after. Just using that wd40 degreaser that is safe for plastics and aluminum. Doesn’t turn aluminum black soaking cylinders etc either.
Spray on let set, spray off. But I add in a bristle brush then wipe down.

I ended up turning it down to a safe 12.8-13 tune.  I think I seen in manual 14 was max. What it was at today when checking.
So yes H side Zama working great.

Good enough for dad. Because I know it won’t ever get this clean again.

Only things left to fix is the oil tank plug melted some by muffler and leaks now and new muffler I’m waiting on.  Had to drill it to get it out. Never had to remove one before. Usually just missing.

Might put some heat tape down there on side and muffler area too.

Just to show guys that ask. Here is that hole inside that you did not want to cover sticking the grub in use red or orange loctite.

Grub installed with red loctite or orange.
It’s that simple for guys always asking here.

Just a warning on this. Every time I have replaced that plug it has been missing.

This one was still in it but had melted and started leaking. I tried picking at it etc to get it out. That never worked.
I ended up drilling a small hole in it to try and get out.

Don’t push to hard though. It will go downward into it.  :o :P

Learned about this AV chain catcher for stihl.  For when the one is off the plastic clutch covers on these style saws.

Stihl MS250c

Ordered the Farmertec muffler kit for the 250c I am working on to give dad.

Way bigger exit hole inside. All the way across in there. That’s a plus. 

Came from their USA warehouse in NJ in 3-4 days this week.

Black farmertec muffler like I used like these oem 025 ones. Deeper slits and and open square. 2 oem 025 mufflers shown.

This is the 025 above all put into a new 250 case. The plastic case was worn out where clamshell mounts.

Other is locals I work on.

So silver one without seeing inside but going by how made and slits more like 250 muffler.

Just need a good day to test and check tune. Before calling it good to take to dad someday.

Being the Farmertec muffler is more open like 025 muffler. Whole square area open and deeper outer slits exiting.
I also used the gasket between the heat shield and muffler.
None was there on 250 set up.

So want to make sure where is at since last session with the 250 muffler.

Also some heat tape layers under and side of plastics where old muffler was ran loose and melted up some.

Little fine tuning with the new muffler kit.

I started it without using purge bulb today. Couple pulls all it took still.
1 pull starts after warm.

Calling it good ready for the trip to dads to be a back up 250 easy start to his 180 easy start.

He was wanting a saw to use 18” on too.
So this saw if he can start it covers all bases.

I ended up running 3x5 echo on everything. Way better then that crap I took out.

But did notice the 2 for purge were close to being loose but worked.

If I had the smaller I would have used it.But easy enough to change those 2 purge ones.

Stihl oem line sizes for such.
