Picked up a low hour 2006 660. Had a 064 many years ago, really liked that saw. New to this model. Any tips and tricks to make the 660 work it's best? Put a duel port front on it. Any other ideas?

I tested stock 660 DP cover and one with a pipe sideways ( pointed wrong way IMHO) and the DP out performed in my testing.

The on my 084 I tested one with pipe in it sideways ( pointed wrong way IMHO) again, burned my hand when making flush cuts. To this one using a husky deflector for $8-$15 total investment. The husky deflector one out performed the pipe again.

My 066 with a few new parts, oem DP cover, dawgs, clutch cover, bar and chain

This is what I call my Caveman muffler mod for a 084 cover in 30 mins.

The best OEM Muffler is the old 066 Muffler, it has the big 1/2" opening and smaller slit opening in front of it part # 1122 140 0603
and the big dual port cover 1122 140 0800 this is the best stock muffler set up I've found for the 660. And I've swapped the new limiter cap carb for one of the older non-limiter carbs not for any gains but for ease in tuning and adjusting the carb.

Now that this saw is no longer for sale I took it to the wood pile today. Very nice. Set at 12,600. 18" bar, 8 tooth rim. Think its going to see some use this summer.

Is an 066 (older one I think ?),that is missing the P&C & clutch cover(dealer took them off), worth $200 ? Just wondering as  I was offered one from a local dealer.

No, its not worth it, so if you get it I will give you your money back plus a little more, just to help you out. Oh, send me the saw also so you don't have to be reminded of being ripped off by such an evil dealer.  ;)

Buy it man, buy it.
