« on: September 22, 2013, 08:28:11 am »
Hi

I have just bought one of these little saw off the Bay, I am waiting for it to be delivered.

Does anyone have a PDF of the service manual please.

Thanks

Allan

Arrived in the post yesterday, wow what a nice saw.

Loads of power, very light, now I can see why they are so well thought of.

As the new saws idle was a little fast (chain just moving), I backed off the idle speed screw, but that made no difference to the idle speed.

Could there be an air leak? main seals perhaps?

I still am looking for a copy of the service manual if anyone has one.

Thanks

Allan

Sorry, I sent what I had to you again and I had already done that.

For others reading this, I sent him a 192T Service Manual and he wants a specific 200T service manual

Thanks for the service manual, it is a great help.

I have now got the saw in bits, new seals and bearings plus a deep clean.

I like the design of these saws, nice to work on, apart from the fragile main oil seals.

Speaking which,200T I got a package today from Stihl Va Beach from Eddie Anderson .

A couple years ago he was posting on several forums under "Stihl#1 ".I don't know what he does for Stihl but I had mentioned I thought I had found what appeared to be a casting flaw in one of the carbs they were having problems with .Adam Clark had mentioned a similar problem .So Stihl's carb lab did testing but found it was not a crack but did find some internal leakage deep within the carb which they could not explain .

Good ole Eddie forgot all about it and so did I .A few days ago he found the new carb he was going to send me and sent it with a nice note .Thanks Eddie if you are watching .I'll stick it on the 200T "Super Bee "I souped up and see how it does .

Now as for that model even in stock form they are little screamers if everything is right on them .They were born to be hot runners from the onset .If for example something the size of an 066 produced as much power in retrospect to displacement you would not be able to hold onto it .

This saw now runs very well, but I am trying to get it as good as possible, so I have ordered new piston rings original Stihl ones.

Compression at the moment is 150-160 PSI, will fitting the new rings make much difference? Or am I wasting my time.

The only reason I am trying this is to see what the results will be, bore is good, piston is good, rings do wear.

Will new rings increase the compression?

I feel rings could be classed as service items, or am I missing something?
