Stihl MS461

Interesting finding pictures of a demo stihl 461 floating around on the internet in a search of new saws today. Suppose to be the replacement of the stihl MS460

Looks like stihl is going with the single barrel intake like the 261. Hopefully it will have more power than the 460.

Have had these for awhile now, just forgot to post them here. Someone had posted some more 461 demo pic.

 Looks like a arctic version.

My only experiance with  this type of technoligy is with a 441 .They seem to do okay but you have to run them about a minute before they warm up well enough to run right . If you cut a little and shut it off you have to go through the same rig- a -ma- roll again before it acts right .That kind of annoys me .

I've never thought about that Al. You are right though, that would be aggravating...

TreeworkDK = Just out of interest, the 460 is up first and has 20" bar 7 pin sprocket the 461 has 24" bar and 8 pin sprocket. Timber is Contorted Pine and is freshly felled and is very wet.
