Limited space&work benches.....
« on: February 17, 2013, 01:58:47 am »
I'm finding that with limited space in my shop that some portable work benches are a life saver. First with about 1hr of work&about $20 worth of lumber&casters old desks can make great mobile work benches. Also for repairmen on the go sturdy old ironing boards make a very cheap take-with-you bench....just food for thought .......

I use some old dressers and I've seen many other kinds of old household furniture pressed into shop duty.

Greatest little workbench I have is a black and decker workmate   I made a table top for it with edges to stop stuff falling from it then screwed a 2x4 to the bottom
I open the workmate jaws and clamp the table top by the 2x4 I can work anywhere out under a tree ,verandah wherever I want
