Besides the oiler hole locations (which I could drill on the D276) and 8.2mm v/s 8mm slot. Any other differences in these bars? Tail mounts basically the same?

The slots on both the D176 and D276 are both actually around 5/16".  Studs on saws intended for both saws are 5/16".

Biggest differences are the oiler holes and the tail width.  Tail width may or may not always be an issue.  Depends on the individual bar.  I have some D276 mount bars with very narrow tails.  They're like a K095 or K041 in width.  MUCH narrower than a D176.  That could cause the chain to be pinched between the bar plates and/or chain damage to the clutch cover and drivecase.   Could also leave the oil channel on the bar pad partially uncovered (which would let oil just ooze over the chain rather than pump into the groove where it's needed).  Same thing happens when running a D096/D196 on a F014 mount large Homelite mount saw (such as a C-5).  That's another topic though...

The D276 is like an A041/K041 in that it oils through the adjuster holes.  You'd have to drill oiler holes for use on a D176 mount saw.

I was thinking a Mcculloch 805 850 etc bar might work. ?   Just drill oiler holes etc.

Wish I could find a D276 on top of a D176 bar somewhere.

D276

A PM850/805/etc bar is indeed a D276 (unless it's a D176 that was installed later).  That Acres illustration doesn't really show the right tail shape for a D276.  Looks more like a D176 minus the separate oiler holes to me.....................although I have seen a few D276 mount bars that look like that.  The majority of the D276 mount bars that I've seen were much narrower than that.  Much more like a K095.

You'd have to put the bar on the studs and eyeball the width and oil slot to make sure everything's A-OK before drilling your oil holes.  The Acres listings would be greatly enhanced if they had the measurements for the tail width...

Just seen a D276 skinny like you said.  Least I know to watch for that now too. Thanks.

116DL is listed for that bar on Echo's site.  Your bar is an Echo branded/stamped Oregon.

I was breaking down a 91 to make a 81 for the other 24" bar. Was thinking of adding to it IF, but not enough extras in windsor carlton looking chain to do it up. So will get a fresh loop.

Thanks..............
