I think some John Deere lawn/garden tractors had Kawasaki 4 strokes at one time?

kawasaki produces magnificent engines for brushcutters. in Italy they are very used. the most popular are th43 and th48, mounted even on Solo bruscutters.
5 of my 6 bruscutters are kawasaki.
you're welcome to visit my italian forum all about chainsaws and bruscutters:

I have a john deere 170 with a 17 hp kawasaki verticle shaft that my g-pa bought in 1088 or so. He changed the oil and filter every fall and I have continued that since I inherited it. I run it 25-30 hours a year and have never had to add a drop of oil between changes, the rest of the tractor is starting to be a challenge though.
