Haven't seen a Cat muff up close & personal.  I heat the seems where the two halves come together and unfold the lap.  Cut the junk out heat seem and refold no welding necessary.  The Cat muffler looks like it's put together the same way.  While you have it apart grind out everything under the deflector to open it up.  IMO unless it's ported that is all the mod you need on 6400.  Keep checking Ebay the old non Cat mufflers pop up ocassionally.
