I wouldn't keep the 575. The 575/6 platform was a bit of a flop from Husqvarna, it was originally supposed to replace the 372 but they never could get the consumers to jump on board. In the end they made updates to the 372 platform.

The 288 is a different story. It was known as the best of that platform and you'd have to pry them out of the cold, dead hands people who still use them everyday. This is probably why they are still produced in Brazil, I'm sure they have great demand and a large profit margin as they are a pretty simple design.

I had a chance to trade my 288XP for a 575Xp.

I think I will keep my 288XP.

Good decision. Mike and Bob hit it on the head. The 575/576 is a newer model than the 288, but it's a 'transitional' saw and will be an orphan whenever the 572AT (or whatever it ends up being called) is released. Parts will be available for the mighty 288XP for a long time to come. I doubt I'll ever own a 575/576 (I have ran a few), but I'll probably be buried with my 288XP (and it doesn't sit around on a shelf just waiting for the next GTG).
