Husqvarna 288xp 288 lite
« on: February 12, 2015, 01:29:54 pm »
Not long ago I had turned down driving 1hr 1 way to look at a nice looking but scored husky 288 lite for $100.  I seen where someone on the sites bought it and redid it and turned out good.

My question is what is the differences in the two?  What makes the lite that little bit lighter too?

The AV spring on the front is only difference as far as I know.  The Lite doesn't have one.

This here?  I guess that would be the weight difference too.

That, and the Lite does not have the HD air filter setup or high top cover.  I would have not passed that one up.... 8)

Hindsight. The drive broke the camels back on the deal.  I just aint game anymore.   :'(

I know I know  ;) you would have  swam crocodile infested waters, walked over fire hot coals and then drove  5 hrs one way.    ;D

Just guessing since learning from this thread.  Maybe recoil was replaced and it isnt a lite 288?  Dont look like a HD air filter type top though.  Soooo? Lite with that front AV?

Yep.  It'd be easy to add the front spring mount....

I'm not sure I'm going to notice the weight of that spring. :) I put that spring on my 281. Not sure if they came with that.
