McCulloch 1-70 Timing
« on: March 13, 2026, 10:24:40 pm »
OK so I have a McCulloch 1-70 and I am trying to set the points. I believe the original points are shorted. After a Phone call to Max the Mac Man new points are on the way. So  everything that I have read tell me that to set the points to insert a timing pin in the timing hole; however where is the timing pin hole located. I did notice several different holes on the backside of the flywheel. But did not know which one to use for setting the points. Or maybe I should just rotate the flywheel until the points open and set to 0.10in.

No service manual for the 1-70. The 1-72 uses .018" point gap. Same engine.
