P5000 Muffler Mod

Got my early model 5000 running pretty good and was thinking of doing a muffler mod. I have a Husky deflection shield on order. I have not done any porting. What size hole and location on the muffler do you recommend?

On the 5000. No side deflector needed on this one.

Just removing the inner baffle does wonders for that saw. Muffler pulls in half.

If still wanting more use something to open the outer hole and Oem deflector.

Thanks for the quick reply. Will give that a try. Haven't really run it for 10 years or so and just put a carb kit in it. I'd forgotten what a nice running light saw it is.
