What is the difference in the poulan 245 A  and the 245 SA ?

 Everyone keeps saying they want a 245a and just wondering why a 245sa for $25 dont get any takers  ???

Just from what I have read the 245SA comes with the power sharp system and a compression release and the 245A does not.  I do not have alot of the old reed valve Poulans.

It's about hour 15mins east of me. About a hour to far for me  one way ;D .

Starting today I got 5 off and 3 of them are on paid leave. WooooooHooooooo

You're right.  The dif is the comp release and PS hardware on the SA saws (245SA and 306SA) vs the regular 245A and 306A.  Early SA saws have the integrated kill switch/decomp/throttle lock button...........while late ones (such as the $25 245SA) have a 'regular' 245/306 throttle lock and a separate button type decomp valve above the muffler.

The lack of interest here doesn't come from the model...............but from the location.  If that saw was local to me I'd be all over it.  in my area, there have been three Poulan 245 variants listed over the last three years.  Two were Dayton branded versions of the 245SA, and one was a 245A.  All were in the same city.....................about three hours drive one way from me.  Strange....

That saw is nicer than my Dayton branded 245SA (an early 'integrated' style saw) that a friend on the other end of the country sent me.  I also have a 'spare' 245A clutch cover that'd go well on that CL 245SA (to eliminate the PS nonsense).  Why are the dang things always so far away??

I would love to, but works been crazy. I am actually going to 7 days a week after the first. Hopefully i can take some  Christmas day if I'm not working or doing the family thing.

I am now the proud owner of the above saw, no I have not inspected it and no i have not taken any pictures. I probably will not keep this old gal forever, its not really my thing.  Maybe trade it off for some newer model.... time will tell.
