I've had trouble with the rear spring screws on mine, especially the one that threads into the colored plastic case extension, so I modified it a bit.  I drilled a hole in the rear handle so I could use a cap screw inserted down from above, and a nut and star washer.  I had to cut the cap screw to the right length.  I also added a star washer to the screw that goes into the black plastic handle.  It's worked well.

Not a bad idea Chris.   Those do come loose all the time.

Yep so far every one has come in loose.  1 was missing bolt and stripped.  I went to a larger thread longer stihl plastic screw in bolt.  So far good.

I have two of these saws the first one is green with the black muffler and the other is red with the silver muffler which is brand new never cut any wood with it yet.  The first one is my favorite camping saw, it has a very good power to weight ratio oils very well and sounds like a big saw when idling.  I never put a tach to it but sounds like a healthy 13,500 no load rpm if I were to guess.
