Replacement Bar - Poulan 3450
« on: October 19, 2014, 03:29:04 pm »
Ok, now that the tank was replaced, I ran some trees through the old saw.  Just at the end, the end sprocket on the original bar **** in half.  Looks like I need a new bar along with everything else I have done.  Starting to second guess fixing an old saw.  Anyway, looking for advise on what 20" bar should I go with on a 1998 Poulan 3450?

So I am leaning towards the Oregon Intenz bar.  It seems to have an adjustment built in.  Does it work well to tighten the chain or is it gimick that keeps getting looser?

Intenz bars have been around a while they are not new.

They work pretty good for a saw with a bad adjustment mechanism

But the Intenz adjustment mechanism is not considered a robust adjustment system but should last if you are careful with it.

I run the 20" intentz bars with the regular adjusters.  If you loose the regular tensioner you can fall back on the intentz bar. Most of them I seen are 70 drive link bars.
You can also convert a K095 small husky bar 72 drive link to work on the poulan K041 mount. Slotting bar adjuster oils and elongate till oil can pass through same hole.

So I ended up with a oregon 200sldk041 bar and a 72lpx070g chain.  They seem to fit.

Yes 70dl 72lgx would be correct.
