INTAKE/EXHAUST RUNNER LENGTH

has anyone here ever tried making intake/exhaust runners longer or shorter for more performance? i guess the exhaust would affect the performance the most? i have thought about decking the exhaust flange on the jug. also making some custom spacers to move the muffler away from the jug in 1/4" increments. any thoughts on this?

In general, longer intake will bias the tuning towards lower rpm.   Calculating the resonance frequency is beyond my ability but there may be some programs available to do this on two strokes....

Resonant frequency on both the intake and exhaust is the ellusive pot of gold nobody has managed to acheive over any width of rpm range except a very narrow band .
