Stihl 044/440 pto crank seal.

Anyone have a good way of getting the bearing spacer/ sleeve down in the oil seal with out blowing the spring of the seal? Sometimes I have good luck and it goes right together and all is well. Sometimes not so much.

Make a spreader from a thin plastic tube or thin shim stock .Use some oil to slip it over the shaft .
