This thread is very fitting as I am on the hunt for one. Have tried a few overseas friends with no luck.
Thinking I need to find someone in Germany. Even the conversion parts seem like a dead end.

One nice thing is no flywheel and generator to buy. As the 500 has both to run the control unit

right now I donot see any arctic saws on the shelves up here , I want another 462 arctic if I can find one for this winter , I have 2 but 3 would be better incase of problems . I was told Stihl has a new factory being built that should be producing saw stuff by xmas and they hope this helps getting new stihl stuff , Light weight bars are still quite hard for most to find up here

but if I could find a 500i in arctic I would buy it for cutting on the landing in the winter time here

Stihl canada says no 500i with heated handles but I am getting another 462 arctic being sent as arctic saws are like hens teeth to find up here

I ordered the heated handle stuff out of the uk. The Control unit is back ordered they won't have it till November sometime. Looks like i  will have to take it to the dealer and get the data transferred for the original control unit to the new one. Then calibrate.

Thinking the only difference is the control will have 2 extra pins in the rearward connector for the power supply to the handles. Same connector as the on/off switch.

Only part they could not get was the cover that goes over the heated on/off switch.
