Stihl MS180 handle removal

Can some one give me a clue as to how to remove the handle from an MS180? Does it just pry off with a screw driver? I can't see any fixings. cheers Peter Davies

Look at this pic where the  big O areas are at (looks like 3 on right).  The handle is a whole type unit on this I think. Never had one to see.

No screws, just have to remove the plugs, and pop the handle out of the av mounts with a flat screwdriver.  Of course, you will need to remove the carb and
the throttle parts first, it is really quite easy.

Thanks for correcting Fish, never had a 170 180 apart.    Sort of a snap together saw?     No coarse screws holding AV's  :o :o.

Thanks guys, perhaps I should put the question the other way around; how do you get it back? The problem is that the middle (upper) mount has popped off. Trying to put it back is like trying to push a piece of string! Suggestions would be welcome. cheers Peter

You need to take a small flat tipped screwdriver and just work it in a smidge at a time all around the mount, it will pop in there. and you need the plug after you get it in there to hold it, or it will just pop out again.

Hi, I tried doing it by the smidge; the problem is the plug. See photo. Looking at your photo, it looks like I should remove the clutch and then, the white plastic end plate? Don't think my end plate is the same.

Yes, it is unusual for it to pop out at that spot, but yes, you will have to remove the clutch and unbolt the block from the crankcase, remove the plug, then work in the a/v mount, then push in the plug, and reassemble.
