Says from you. = Mon, Dec 20, 2021, 9:27 PM Hi just got a mint cs 6700.. this is one of the early grey ones.. not a mark on it.. want to use it as a firewood saw.. needs a carb rebuild.. first and only owner let it sit on a self .. i can get it to fire.. wont really hold an idle.. this is the question.. before i do all that.. can i just put a larger cs 8000 carb into it.. is it a direct fit.. the muffler mod is not a problem.. or just leave the carb alone.. quick rebuild / muffler mod.. 24 inch bar.. its a heavy saw.. the faster you cut firewood balances out against weight.. thanks john

Me =  I put the biggest 8000 carb made for the 8000 on a stock muffler modded 6700. IMO it wasnt worth it.  Just rebuild your 6700 carb or get another 670 680 carb.

Maybe the 8000 carb would help if one was fully ported on the wild side. But not on this one I did with just a muffler mod.
