John Deere 66SV Echo 610 twin

Just sharing some pics of a clean JD 66 twin.

Guess it is a echo 610 twin that some guys go nuts over except this one is in the even rarer yellow JD colors.   Just seems this area is abundant with these darn things.

I've been passing on the little echo 610 twin over the years at very good prices. Some $150. Also been passing on these JD colored ones that I like the looks of best.

I had the chance to run Mark's echo twin at the gtg and have to  say a very smooth in the cut 60cc saw.   8)
Mark stated he gave $75 for this twin.

The log I was cutting in was a little punky and I  should have went to a new fresh stick.  Thats my bad. 
Brad I think ran it in better wood.

I ran that Echo twin some and I thought it was smooth and quiet. It was not heavy and underpowered like people sometimes comment. They must have never run one?

A 610 will be my next project, still in the box but disassembled.

Already available from $150 ? I think I should get a 2nd for parts then ;-)
Back in my days it was much more  ::)

Very complex saw though, like a kind of concept study. To me it looks like it could never be competitive in a professional context!
The matter is, that they had to double too much things. 2 pistons, two rods, two coils, this all ads up in weight.
And with just 2 x 30cc, they never get real credit for it.
The cooling concept is finally the total mess and will kill every twin that will be used on a regular basis!  :P

You are correct but Echo did a pretty good job with all these obstacles.
