As a point of reference I discovered something .The PM 1000 is really a P100 Partner in McCulloch clothing .I you use the Partner plates they will take a 10 series bar but if you use Husqvarna 2100 plates they will take Husqvarna bars which are easier to find than  the longer 10 series bars . Stumbled on to it by accident .Also might add the Husky plates go for cheap but the Partner bars for a P100 they seem to be especially proud of .
