Those are not bad looking deflectors and I like that they are welded on.

So what holds the spark arrestor in place on those.

On the last ones I left a bigger flat area and set each side with a flat punch.

On the last ones I left a bigger flat area and set each side with a flat punch.

They are welded in place with the deflectors.

After welding the first deflector (second set of pictures), I grabbed thicker wire screening, which is basically just about bulletproof

I didnt dimple or punch the screen in due to the large size of the hole under it, I figured it would be strongest if it were welded with the deflector

What I did on my 2-MS440's 1" tubing fitted over normal outlet & welded on.  Stock screen in place hole enlarged under stock deflector forward to factory slit.

Both of them ported 066's have the stock openings hogged out to the max plus the second opening with Reds deflector ............. they both picked up quite a bit of RPM in the cut without getting too much louder (they were already pretty loud to begin with).

Having just a 1" tube would restrict them

I think I have a couple of 460 muffler front covers, I may have been inspired to experiment due to this thread.

One note, the screen on the 1130 series saws is very fine and prone to plugging so keep an eye on it.

Well since this is about MS460 muffler mods I have to show the pic of mine one more time.

Double barrel welded in place and the spark arrestor can still be used.
