I havent seen or heard of such.  Oiler line broken?

I always ran my oilers wide open and never problems. Long as there is still some bar oil in the tank to a  tank of fuel I am happy.

Yep that 8000 oiler can run the tank dry quick.  Most dont know that this saw was the first with a no oil at idle system.  This no oil at idle system was replaced with the brass worm gear on the crank that runs the pump all the time.  Who knows why the swapped out their old system.  Oil adjustment is on the right side near the cylinder in front of the handle support.  Forward is the lowest setting, adjustment is via a flat bladed screwdriver. 

Otherwise, if oil is seeping past the bottom grommet where the hose comes out of the tank, check the air inlet which is in the forward top corner behind the inner bar plate.  Older 8000's used a copper cotter pin as the vent whereas newer models have a duckbill in that same hole behind the inner bar plate.  May have plugged with saw dust and cant let the heat pressure out of the tank?
