Had a husqvarna 36 dropped off today. Says just wants the chain sharpened.   OK I give it quick look see. Sniff how old is the gas. Hmmmm dont know. Smells like turpentine to me.  ::)   Dump gas for a look in my wide mouth jar.  ewwwwwww  :o
 
Could hear the fuel filter banging around loose in tank. No line even there left to attach to. So I ask again you sure just a chain sharpen?  Left saw. Took number and will call back later.  :P

Wont touch till I find out.

I compression test everything my arm on starter don't read right. it can't tell difference between 110 and 90.

Did the guy get a new fuel line and filter?

Just on the side from my real job.  My own place pick and choose what I want to work on.  ;)

Still hasnt called back and moved the saw today matter of fact. Good looking saw for a 36.

I have a cherry looking, low time 36 with a BAD air leak.  Will replace the seals, intake boot, and impulse grommet when I get around to it....

I see that kind thing all the time also.   But what they will do is dump the fuel before they bring it in, but you cannot get rid of that smell of bad gas.    Soon as you pop the cap off the fuel tank it knocks you over.
When I find the gas bad, fuel lines bad, then usually the carb is going to be bad also.  It just messes up all the rubber parts.

Finally. Got a go ahead as long as just lines etc. if carb needs touched get hold of first.  Thats a start.
I just want to get it running before I touch the chain it came in for.

Remove carb and ran the fuel line today in 36. 

Done using that LP1200 small line.  When it went through carb base and  then through the  smaller tank hole. After pulled through it didnt regain it's shape.  Using the tygon 4040 from now on for the small line.

Tuned carb to my mix all seems ok now. Thought she was going to need a kit but once I worked on the L and I and got the old fuel out of her it seemed fine.
