3400 adjustable oiler
« on: September 04, 2013, 08:41:15 pm »
I read somewhere that the early 3400's had an adjustable oiler. Any of you Poulan guru's know of this? If so was it the same pulse type oiler? I also wonder how long it was offered.   Chris

I have never heard of an adjustable oiler for the Poulan 3400.   The oiler on the 3400 that I am familiar with is the auto that works off of impulse and uses a plunger for manual.    The diaphragm on those can become hard over time and then stops oiling very well.

If you guys never heard of it,then it must be very rare. I read about it in an Intertec Publishing Chain saw service manual, 9th edition, 1993. It says adjustment screw is underneath , set at 2 turns from lightly seated. Doesn't say anything else, except later 3400, and all 375,3700,3800, and 4000 models have nonadjustable pumps. The diagram is of the normal pump.   Thanks for the replies,   Chris
