Chainsaw Repair

Fitted new rings, ran for about 5 mins.

Allow it to cool down and measured compression again.

Now showing 165p.s.i.

So for me there has been an increase in compression, I can see a difference when I suspend the saw by its pull cord, takes longer to fall.

I can also feel it when I start it , more resistance.

I will do some cutting with it and measure again.

The rings that I removed,were dimensionally slightly larger than the new ones, they also had "Max" laser etched into them.

Could these be non original after market rings, they were 2.5 thou wider than genuine Stihl rings?

I will give it a good run and measure again when it is bedded in.
