Yes the 445 wasnt running right at all, was just lacking in cut and not taking throttle. I think the 415 I was testing a few weeks ago with 24" buried would have out cut it too.
But like I said the 441c impressed me for stock.

This was the 445 I was wanting to test yesterday but didnt finish it till today.  No carb issues with this one.  ;)

#4 of my 445's but only 2 runners.

Just finished and test cutting with 20" buried in big dry ash log and now 16" and bigger on the other dry  ash log. All day with that 441c or better.  Would need a stop watch to tell. But dont care about that anymore and neither does the wood.

Found another full wrap handle.  8)
Now to decide if I want to put it on one of the 445 saws.
Also have a guy with a 505 that wants the full wrap for his 1 owner 505.

I was pretty happy with the 445 myself.   I am used to running it at 6000 ft above sea level and getting it down to sea level was a big difference.    Heck I still have the spark arrestor in the muffler.  That was also the first time I had a chance to run it in red oak.   Some hard tough wood.   All my saws ran pretty good that day.
Would not mind finding another one of those 445.

Roger what was the bar length in Tim's video?   @3000 FPS

The project 445 70.7cc I used to test the 3 styles of worm gears in worked. Metal and Plastic worm gears from the early and later series.
Being that is over I made the 445 up my way today. Put the original style plastic worm gear in it and installed the other full wrap I bought. Put on a 24" 3/8 84dl oem bar that came on my first 415. Me like after test cutting. If you notice it dont have on the west coast big dawgs that are needed for a full wrap. The 415 fire dept saw had full wrap and smooth inner dawg for its uses. So I wanted this one set up like that.

Someone wanting to buy this last 445 I put the full wrap on. But they want it with half wrap like this.

I sell any saw, but afraid to price it to him. Last saw I priced to him he bought it. =415

I just priced it to a guy PHO set up like this. I figure I cant keep them all. I have 2 runners and this is nicest one with nicest 445 recoil and clutch covers. Have 4 445 cylinders so I could build 2 more still.

Gave them 24hrs to make me regret pricing it.  Told them last night I'll better keep this one.

Even though the carb version stihl 462 is 2lbs lighter PHO it still cost $1050 shipped.

After searching for parts for the air injection and muffler gasket for a member here and building 445 #2.
I realized my 8-9 bins full of parts was all disorganized.
Last night I set everything out on floor and put the parts in bins as parts groups.
I also noticed I was getting low on some parts after I been selling alot off for folks to get their saws going again. So slowing down on what I will sell in this series. Still plenty of parts just some stuff I wont sell till I quit running this series. With that said parts pulled to make #3 PP445 in all yellow were pulled out. Yellow updated tank with updated air filter set up and yellow cassette for chain brake.
